Teaser: I kidnap a guy who cat calls me and decide his fate... dun, dun, dun. 😉

Special shout out to writer/director Javier Sanchez Jr. for creating such a fantastic character for me to sink my teeth in.

✅ BOOKED IT: Maxiglide Infomercial

October 09, 2016

From crazy curls to dead straight in 15 minutes. No joke!

I've modeled for other hair straightening products before, but this one actually worked! Some of the girls who were cast had curls that would normally take 2-3 hours to straighten. Maxiglide cut that time by 75%. Not to mention, it's healthier for your hair thantraditional flat irons because of it's steam burst feature, which helps replenish the ends with moisture.

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about my new hair toy! 💁🏼

A few of my friends and I attended the CAA Young Hollywood Party to help raise money to support Communities in Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA)

What a fun night! We drank, we danced (well... I danced), we met fun people, and we ate LOTS of cupcakes. 😝 #YUM!

Seriously, though... Georgetown Cupcakesblows all the other specialty cupcake places out of the water. Check 'em out!

To learn more about Communities in Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA) or to donate, click here.

More great news for this beautiful project that I had the privilege of being cast in. Stuck in the Middle is an official selection of the Blow-Up Chicago International Arthouse Film Festival.

I'm so proud of the continued success of this film. Thank you to the entire cast & crew for making this all possible. A special shout out to the writer & my co-star, Kris Swinnen and to our talented director, Quirine Dongelmans.

The Festival Screening Events are November 18 – 20, 2016. And the Award Ceremony is November 19, 2016 at 3PM. Click here for more information on the festival.

It Keeps Getting Better

September 30, 2016

September is always a terrific month. For starters, it's my birthday month (yay!) and I celebrated with a week long tip to NYC. It was actually my first time in the Big Apple and I fell in love. Take a look at a few of the highlights. ⬆️

After the trip, I was rejuvenated and inspired to get back to work. And boy, did I get to work...

First, I started by pitching myself for a role on one of the hottest TV shows. It's cast by an Emmy award winning Casting Director ... and I got her on the phone directly! She even invited me to send her my materials. 😍 #oncloud9

Next, my goal was to find a new acting class that inspired me. So I checked out Jeff Dockweiler aka Coach Dock and felt right at home. I love his approach to the work. Plus, he's a super cool human. Then moments after committing to Coach Dock's class, my friend called to invite me to a private class taught by a Tony award winning actor! Yes, please. #ThankYouUniverse

Check me out in the Birthdayzilla sketch from Elite Daily. Kind of perfect timing as tomorrow is my birthday. 🎉

Buying Broadway Tix on Craigslist? JUST SAY NO!

September 14, 2016

Apparently all New Yorkers are privy to this essential piece of info. But we learned the hard way...

My boyfriend was scouring the internet for Hamilton tickets. When he came across a couple "face value" tickets on Craigslist, he jumped on the opportunity. We even met the guy face-to-face. He handed us these "real" tickets plus his "actual" Ticketmaster receipt. So we handed over the cash and rushed to the theatre to see the show. But alas, they were fakes.

On the bright side, 2 face value orchestra seats became available on Ticketmaster the next day and we got them! It was worth every penny. Fake ticket price included.

Note: Broadway.comand Ticketmaster are the ONLY official sites to buy verified Broadway tickets.

Behind the Scenes of Success

August 16, 2016

The other day an actor asked me if I'd been working on anything lately and I exclaimed, YES!!! My brain became flooded with the myriad of things I'm currently working on. I just finished taking Intermediate at Groundlings, I'm continuing my commercial agent outreach, I made time for networking and to reconnect with a few friends, I have an email newsletter and postcards to send, and am still finding time to enjoy my summer in LA.

But what they really wanted to know about were the projects I've been working on. And while I have done a few things since the last time we spoke (I shot with Bomb Diggity, filmed a Rite Aid Industrial training video, and was also a guest on the Loos Tale's radio show), these were not the only highlights for me. Behind the scenes of success is a lot of not-so-glamorous work. But these day-to-day tasks are what will allow me to reach my goals. So I've decided to celebrate them too! Plus, it means I'm getting closer and closer to booking my first TV co-star.

August 12, 2016

We're back! And funnier than ever, especially if you've ever been on a blind date. 😂 So head on over to our YouTube channel and check out our latest sketch "Blind Date,"starring yours truly.

🎶 Tweedlee deedly dee 🎶

August 11, 2016

Is it just me, or does Rockin' Robin' instantly start playing in your head when you think of #tweeting? Haha..

Last week, I attended the LA Actor's Tweetupwith special guest Rachele Fink Richardson of SBV Talent. She was full of insightful information about the commercial industry. Plus, she was super cool! So happy to have gotten the chance to meet her. ☺️

Host of the LA Actor's TweetupBen Whitehair and Carrie Daniel always bring in top notch guests that you wouldn't typically have the privilege of meeting. So I highly recommend signing up for their mailing listand attending the next TweetUp! I'll see you there.

SoHo House Fun

August 03, 2016

What do you get when you put 3 blondes in a Photo Booth...

Sad 😰 Angry 😡 Happy ☺️ Silly 🤓

As you can tell, I had a super important business meeting at the SoHo House with some colleagues. Ha!

Shout out to the uber talented writer/ director Cassandra Brooksbank for inviting Katrina Muldoon and me. You both inspire me. Keep the good times rollin!

When Trent Loos asked me to be a guest on his Loos Tales radio show, I was thrilled. I'm so proud of my Kansas, farm girl roots! Plus, I love to help bridge the gap between country and city folk. We're really not all that different. We just need to listen. Which is fitting, since Trent and my relationship all started with my "ears" (ears of sweet corn, that is). 🌽

In today's episode, Trent and I laugh, catch up, have fun, and talk serious for a minute when we find a lot of similarities between our lives in rural America and Hollywood.

😳 Failure 😳

July 11, 2016

Often times, we end up not going after our goals for fear of failure. But failure doesn't need to be such a dirty word. If you have 90 seconds, you should really check out this inspiring video where Sara Blakely, Spanx Founder & CEO, talks about reframing our definition of failure. I love it!

& Holding Myself Accountable...

July 01, 2016

A big goal over the next 6 months is to sign with a commercial agent that I'm excited about. I have a great target list narrowed down and am ready to start whipping out some cover letters. Soon I'll hopefully have a new agent! And don't hesitate to ask me how it's going.

P.S. If there is anyone you recommend I reach out to, please let me know. I value your opinion and would love the feedback. Thanks!

Happy International Yoga Day

June 21, 2016

In honor of the holiday, I am checking out Brian Kest's Power Yoga class today. It's from 12-1pm in Santa Monica and is donation based. If you're interested, hit me up and we'll go together! I'd love to see you and sweat out those toxins! :)

Summertime, Summertime, Sum, Sum, Summertime

June 20, 2016

Can you believe it's summer already?! I can't!! We're almost half way through 2016! How are those New Years resolutions looking? lol.. I don't even remember what mine was now. But I'm still having an awesome & very productive year. Lots of cool things happening to fill you in on... ☺️

New Management

May 31, 2016

I'm very excited to announce that today I partnered with Steven Buchsbaum at Ad Astra Management. He has a solid roster of extremely talented actors and I am honored to be part of the family. With episodic season right around the corner, I can't wait to see what's in store. The day where I book my first co-star is getting closer and closer! I can feel it. Stay tuned. 😍

Golf Buddy Voice2

May 25, 2016

Today I shot my very first regional TV commercial for Golf Buddy!!! In the commercial, we highlight their "Voice2" device, a talking GPS that tells you how far out you are from the back/front/center of the green. Pretty cool, huh?! I got to play the smart & spunky wife who introduces her overly-confident husband to the device. It was so much fun! And the entire cast & crew were so great to work with. Can't wait to share the spot with you!

La Bohème

May 19, 2016

Not gonna lie, when my boyfriend invited me to the opera, I was super skeptical. But La Bohème blew me away. It was such a simple yet beautiful story. And their voices were mesmerizing. The set decoration was unlike anything I've seen before - I felt like they were really in Paris. It was bliss. And love. And still brings a smile to my face thinking about it.

Moral of the story: Give the LA Opera a chance! It may surprise you. 🎭

Time flies when you're having fun!! And fun has definitely been being had on my end since the last time we spoke. I crashed an audition, which lead to a booking. Pitched myself for the lead in a short film, got that too! Shot a commercial, updated my reels, explored LA with my parents, went horseback riding in Malibu, had some agent & manager meetings, reconnected with old friends, made new friends, spent a weekend in Big Sur, saw Kinky Boots at the Pantages (a MUST see), and signed a lease on a beautiful new apartment in Santa Monica. I guess it's been a good couple months! ☺️

What about you?! I'd love to hear what you've been up to and what you're most excited about.

The Real Life Actor

May 05, 2016

"If you're an actor, this book will restore your sanity."
– Steven Pressfield, author of The War of Art and Turning Pro.

Just a few weeks ago, I had the privilege of meeting and getting coached by Jeff Seymour, author of The Real Life Actor. If you're feeling like your acting classes are only making acting more difficult & complicated, I highly recommend checking out this book. A past recipient of The Real Life Actor was so inspired that he gifted a book to me and another student! I can't wait to dive in.

The Real Life Actor is about tapping into the natural storytelling instincts that all of us were born with. Jeff has cultivated an approach to acting that is simple, direct and to the point. It looks & sounds a lot like real life. But we'll call it "acting" just because people are watching.

I recently updated my comedy & drama reels with some great new footage. Check them out! I'd love to know what you think.

Super Tuesdays

April 26, 2016

Studies show that Tuesday is the most productive day of the week, Wednesday comes in second, and Friday is the worst. So why is this important? You can leverage this information to work more productively and multiply your results during the week. Here are a few tricks how:

1. Protect this day on your calendar with a vengeance! Don't schedule meetings, calls, lunch dates, etc. Use this day to do your most important, valuable, and creative work.

2. Schedule multiple 90-minute, uninterrupted work sessions. Shut off email, silence your cell phones, and stay off social media for great gaps of time.

3. Send your important communications  and promotions on this day.

4. Assign difficult or important tasks to your team on this day.

Now you can leverage your MOJO to the fullest and crush those goals!

Unexpected Gaieties

April 15, 2016

I cannot WAIT to share this hilarious film with you all. Unexpected Gaieties is about a sheltered homophobic woman, Abigail, who frantically tries to escape her colleague's wedding upon learning that his bride is a man... 😳

It was so much fun playing Abigail. We had such a talented cast and crew. Director Alice Tsui put her heart and soul into this and it shows! Our cinematographer, Emiliana Ammirata, has a great eye and captured the story beautifully. And a big shout out to my cast-mates, Reid Barraza and Alexis Taylor Monroe. I couldn't have done it without you!

Unexpected Gaieties hits the big screen for the very first time on Thursday, May 19th at 7PM. If you're interested in attending, please click here for more information.

Your Goals are Overrated

March 09, 2016

Yep, you read that right. Your goals are overrated.

Take for instance your 2016 New Year's resolutions, aka goals. How many of you have kept those suckers up? For those of you who have, major props! My guess is that you're using what I'm about to share. But for those of you who haven't, would you like to know how to start over and actually stick with it? Change the way you think about it by creating new habits!

Check out this article by Mark Manson. It totally inspired me to change the way I was thinking about working out. Flash forward 29 days... I'm running for at least 20 minutes every day, I'm happier, healthier and so proud of my newly developed habit.

You can do it too!!!

New Headshots

February 14, 2016

James DePietro is amazing! I couldn't be happier with the shots that were captured on our Valentine's Day headshot session. A huge shout out to my image consultant, Buckley Sampson, for creating such vibrant & on-brand looks. And also my makeup artist, Sarah Nelson. She made me look and feel beautiful for each shot. 💖

Lights, Camera, Action

January 16, 2016

For Christmas, Santa got me an amazing self-tape audition set-up: lights, backdrops, and even an external mic!! After getting everything all set up, I was super excited to film my first audition. Not only did the quality of the audition footage get exponentially better, but I feel like my acting improved too! I even booked the very first audition I filmed using the set up! I was cast in a comedic film where I'll be playing a reporter!! I couldn't be happier. Thank you Santa! 🎬

Rabbit or Duck? Perception is Key

December 28, 2015

"Courageous is the soul who adventures into time and space to learn of their divinity. For while you cannot lose, you may think you have, and the loss will seem intolerable. And while you cannot fail, you may think you have, and the pain will seem unbearable. And while you cannot ever be less than you truly are – powerful, eternal, and loved – you may think you are, and all hope will seem lost.

And therein lies the test. A test of perceptions: of what to focus on, of what to believe in, in spite of appearances." ~ Notes from the Universe

So what do you see? A rabbit or a duck? As we head into the new year, remember that feelings are based upon perceptions, which are based upon beliefs, which at all times are chosen. Why not choose the life you want to live in 2016.

Bomb Diggity: Mirco Shorts

December 22, 2015

Try saying this out loud...

"The introspective inclusions involving insatiable instances of insubordination insinuate instant gratification."

Thanks to writer/director Shane Miller, that was one of my lines in Bomb Diggity's latest micro short, Girl Thoughts. 😳 What a tongue twister!

Look for new
micro shorts to be released every Tuesday. And the popular comedy shorts will still hit YouTube every Thursday.

And if you missed any episodes in December, here is a quick recap of the shorts I had the pleasure of acting in:

– Girl Thoughts
– Double Date
– Crowdfunding Parody

Finally, if you enjoy Bomb Diggity and want more, head over to the Indigogo campaign for Shane's latest feature film, Happy Hallucinations.

Pretty in Pink 💁🏼

December 10, 2015

Ever since I was a little girl, I always wants to do something bold with my hair, like bright pink tips or colorful highlights or something funky like that. But I was always too scared to actually commit to such a bold change. Well last month, that all changed...

I had the privilege of booking another
Wella Studio's hair show. This time, they needed models to demonstrate a new European color line, KADUS, to the Wella brand ambassadors. But what they didn't tell me was that I was going to get subtle pink highlights! After a temporary freak out/identity crisis, I realized that I really loved my new look. And now that the pink has almost fully washed out, I'm actually kind of sad!

Lesson: Move outside of your comfort zone. What was once frightening is now fun.

In spirit of this holiday season, I want to say THANK YOU for all your continued support. Through the year, you have been there for me, coached me, cast me, directed me, acted alongside me, cheered for me, believed in me, and pushed me to new heights. You have helped make 2015 one of the most transformative years yet. I cannot wait to make you proud in 2016.

❤️ THANK YOU ❤️

The Pink Lagoon, Final Memories, & MORE

December 01, 2015

November was a very busy month and I loved every second of it. ☺️

Kicking off the month, I got sweet revenge in Javier Sanchez's short film, The Pink Lagoon. What a trip!

The following weekend, I was taking inspiration from the nurses of Grey's Anatomy as I had my own patient to care for in Jaho Koo's short film, Final Memories.

Also sprinkled throughout the month were some hair model shoots, where I got to work with Wella Professionals at their corporate offices in Woodland Hills. First, I got to embrace my naturally curly locks in a few EIMI product tutorial videos. Then they tamed me down for the NIOXIN brand, where I was doing more product tutorials.

I'll be sure to share links to all these films & tutorials as soon as they are online! In the meantime, check out my
Facebook Fan Page for a behind the scenes look at all these projects and much MORE!

I've recently been noticing a trend of people saying (myself included) they want more happiness in their life. But getting happiness seems to come with qualifiers like "if I made more money," or "if I could just take a vacation," or "if I was in a relationship," or "if I had the career I wanted" ...you get the picture. But the thing is, we will always be striving for the next great "thing." So how do we get happiness now?

According to Harvard professor Shawn Achor, positive thinking can literally change the trajectory of our lives - and he has proof! In Shawn's SuperSoul Session, he will astound you with his research findings and help you discover how happiness is possible now.

KC Royals 2015 World Champs

November 01, 2015

Not only am I super proud to be from Kansas right about now, but I love that this 30-years-in-the-making win serves as a beautiful reminder:

Never, never, never give up on your dreams! Even when you're down 0-2 going into the 9th inning.

I dedicate this Backstage article to my dear friends and family who might not always get it. :) xo

Super excited to announce that I will be working with writer/director/producer Shane Miller on his YouTube sketch comedy series, Bomb Diggity. Watch for original sketch comedies every Thursday and NEW micro shorts every Tuesday. Subscribe HERE if you like to laugh.

Did you bomb your last audition? Did that script you write get rejected over and over again? Did your last film flop? GOOD! Please don't take that as an insult. It's actually meant to be encouraging. It just means you're not there "yet." So get back in front of that casting director, write that screenplay you've been putting off, and produce that passion project! And if this isn't motivation enough, please check out Angela Lee Duckworth's TED talk, The Key to Success? Grit.

One year ago, I was hard at work filming Stuck in the Middle, a heartwarming & romantic short comedy. Little did I know that one year later this film would land me my first nomination - Best Lead Actress in a Short Film. Thank you so much to the ultra talented cast & crew of Stuck in the Middle, who also received nods in Best Comedy and Best Lead Actor in a Short Film.  It was such an honor to be part of this project. And thank you to the Milan International Filmmaker Festival's nominating committee for recognizing our hard work.
